See the IOM mistake of claiming that 20 ng of vitamin D is enough

Tuesday May 29, 2012

In Nov 2010 the Institute of Medicine voted that 20 nanograms of vitamin D was enough for BONE health

With the following graph you can see that to protect against bone failure that about 72 nmols is needed

NOT the 50 nmols that the IOM voted for.

By the way - the IOM apparently did not look at any data after mid-2008,

so they missed out on an avalanche of new information: more than the bone benefits from Vitamin D
