Is vitamin D, pregnancy and dental health related?

Hi, all I am new here. I here to get suggestions on the problems that I am facing now. Its hard to understand the logic behind the relation between vitamin D, pregnancy and dental issues. I am pregnant and I am having severe dental issues so I was tinking of visiting dentist at Dr. Stephen Phelan ( http://www.phelandental.com/ ) in this regard. But I happened to read an artile which mentioned the relation between vitamin D level and health. In that, it said that low level vitamin D can lead to dental isses. If then I should be taking more care of my vitamin D level . But will it be helpful in helping me in getting rid of my teeth isues? Or should consult the dentist? What could be the actual reason for this?
